Blogger Top 10 Advertising Spaces for Google Adsense

Today I'm so happy releasing such an advance guide of blogger available ad spaces for Google adsense ads and third party ad units. In custom blogger template you have vast flexibility to monetize your content and set different ad spaces to generate more revenue. Header, Sidebar, Above post content, Below post content and Above footer are the most common ad spaces but out of these there are still remaining ad spaces that may provide you highest CTR you don't know. Investing through all available ad spaces i have found 10 more ad spaces in a custom blogger template and you can use all these ad spaces on your blog without violating Adsense policy because all of them are valid ad spaces.

I hope through out this tutorial you would learn some basics of blogger ad spaces and how to figure out ads for generating CTR and revenue. Let's go ahead because this is a very big article 2000+ words and i expect that you will continue reading them all.

Ad Space #1 - Showing Adsense Between Blog Posts : Rectangle 300 x 250 (HOME, ITEM, ARCHIVE PAGES)

New blogger's feature has added a new terrific opportunity to boost up adsense earnings by placing adsense (300 x 250) ad unit between every single blog post on home, item, archive and label pages. If you want to show ads between your posts
  1. First go to your Layouts tab
  2. Then, in the "Blog Posts" section, click on "Edit"
  3. A pop-up window will appear with options to configure your blog posts.
  4. Check the box next to "Show Ads Between Posts."
  5. Note: You must be signed up for AdSense before you can check this box.

Show ads below posts

Explanations: 
If you want to show ads after every post, select "1" from the drop-down menu (please note: Adsense policy limits to a total of 3 ad units per page, and Blogger will automatically prevent you from going over this limit). Now select your ad format and colors. Once you have finished the configuration of your ads, click on the orange "Save" button.

Ad Space #2 - Showing Adsense on Right Header : 465 x 60 (ALL PAGES)

Right header of any website or blog covers the highest impressions (up to 85% impressions) also attention of audiences. Placing a 464 x 60 adsense ad unit on right header of your blogger blog is an awesome place to generate more revenue. If your right header has enough space i mean more than 60% space then i recommend you adding a Leaderboard ad style on right header because of more CTR and earning boom

To add Adsense on right header of your blogger blog template, you must have your header section divided into two distinct sections. If you already use a custom template also two distinct sections of header then please follow instructions
  1. Go to Layout tab
  2. Click on Add a Gadget on right header
  3. Choose Adsense from the list of official blogger widgets on popup
  4. Now configure your ad size, colors and save widget
  5. Finally save arrangement of layout and you're done

Ad Space #3 - Showing Adsense Below Header : Leaderboard 728 x 90 (ALL PAGES)

You can use one prominent ad space for Adsense that is below header section. The most attentive space when a visitor comes to your site it attracts 80% over the ad than content. So more click ability, CTR and earnings. The best alternative ad unit is Leaderboard 728 x 90 is perfect below header section. You can either set the ad unit from directly Layout section or editing your blog template. But the easiest one is from Layout section, so we would show you this process
  1. Go to Layout section
  2. Now click on Add a gadget
  3. A pop-up window will appear with bundle of blogger official widgets
  4. Now choose Adsense and configure Ad size, colors
  5. Finally hit save
  6. Now make sure you have added this widget right below header section
  7. Finally save arrangement and you're almost done!

Ad Space #4 - Showing Adsense on Sidebar : 300 x 250 (ALL PAGES)

Sidebar is the best place for Adsense although lower impressions than header or below header space but still you can generate a handful of revenue from clicks placing Adsense ads on sidebar. You can add maximum 3 ad units on sidebar because of Adsense policy otherwise your account may be disabled. The perfect ad size for sidebar is Rectangular 300 x 250 Ad unit. It works better on sidebar and perfectly blends with your content. You can follow the instructions of adding ad unit below header of right header to configure ad on sidebar. 

Tip: Don't place ads on top of sidebar but within other widgets like popular posts, email subscription, label tags or blog archive will work better. So the ad unit will go middle of your sidebar

Ad Space #5 - Showing Adsense on Mid Sidebar : Wide Skyscraper (ALL PAGES)

This widget may not be enabled on many of custom blogger templates. Yes! diving sidebar section into two distinct sections and each section will be 160px wide. So you can add blogroll, internal links or links of favorite guides on one side and other side for Wide Skyscraper Ad unit of Adsense. Adsense says this one (Wide Skyscraper Ad unit) is the most successful Ad unit to generate clicks and revenue so i think i should discuss this lucrative ad space of maximizing your earning from Google Adsense

Tip: For boosting up your earning set the Adsense Wide Skyscraper left and blogroll widget right of the two distinct sections.

Ad Space #6 - Showing Adsense Above Post Title : 465 x 60 (STATIC POST PAGES)

Above post title you have chances to generate 70% impressions on Adsense ads and more CTR. Basically Adsense crawler targets your post title keywords and shows the highest relevant Ads so the probability of more clicks from users interests. Adding an Adsense ad unit (465 x 60) near to post title (above or below) will attract a visitor when he/she is reading a specific post and finds the ad relevant to the content so tends to click on ads and your earning goes boom.

To add Adsense (464 x 60) Ad unit above post title please do following

1. Go to Template Section
2. Backup Your template
3. Now click on Edit HTML
4. Search for <b:includable id='post' var='post'>
5. Now carefully see below above line there is remaining <div class='post hentry'>
6. Found it? Now switch to your adsense account > make an adsense ad unit for 464 x 60 ad layout
7. Save ad unit and copy ad code
8. Now go to this page of HTML Encoder tool
9. Paste your adsense ad code and hit Convert it button
10. Now copy the parsed Adsense ad code and add replacing Your Parsed Adsense Code Here

Ad Space #7 - Showing Adsense Below Post Title : 300 x 250 (STATIC POST PAGES)

The same way you can add Adsense right after post title or above post body so probabilities of highest clicks than any other ad space of your blog. You can do things like following ways

1. Go to Template Section
2. Backup Your template
3. Now click on Edit HTML
4. Search for <data:post.body/>
5. Now switch to your adsense account > make an adsense ad unit for  300 x 250 ad layout
6. Save ad unit and copy ad code
7. Now go to this page of HTML Encoder tool
8. Paste your adsense ad code and hit Convert it button
9. Now copy the parsed Adsense ad code and add replacing Your Parsed Adsense Code Here

Ad Space #8 - Showing Adsense Right After More Tag : 464 x 60 (STATIC POST PAGE)

This is an advanced technology of adding Adsense ad unit right after Read More tag in Blogger. Unlike wordpress of adding Adsense between post content Blogger supports adding adsense at where the more tag executes. There is a simple JavaScript code which appends a specific Adsense Ad unit to Read more tag and only works with browsers if JavaScript enabled for webkit type browsers like Mozilla. Ad Space #9 - Showing Adsense Below Post Body : 300 x 250  (STATIC POST PAGE)

The most attractive ad space overall your blog post i think. Listen, when you're blogging you're telling readers something special so that they are getting engaged in your posts and frequently coming to your blog. The very important point readers focused is the end part of your post because they do want to know some motifs from you so the conclusion part is another attractive point across your blog.

Adding an adsense ad unit right after your blog post where the conclusion part ends is an intelligent idea to get readers engaged in your ads that is relevant to your content. Rich media ad (text and image) performs better in such ad space also link ads do well. But for higher CTR we will embed 300 x 250 Ad unit right after post body

The instruction of adding ad unit is all the same for Ad Space #7 but only difference is that you need add entire code right after <data:post.body/> Then save your template and you're done!

Ad Space #10 - Showing Adsense Below Content Wrapper : Leaderboard 728 x 90 (ALL PAGES)

Below content wrapper you have lower impressions on pages but still has ability to give you value of CTR for a Leaderboard Adsense ad unit. Most of the bloggers use this ad space to show Leaderboard ad unit someone sell the direct ad space because of the highest performance of Leaderboard below content wrapper. To figure out this ad space you have to take some manual actions on your template. We will show you the instructions but configurations will be handled by you because content wrapper is not same for all custom blogger templates.

Anyway let's see how to do this

1. Go to Template Section
2. Backup Your template
3. Now click on Edit HTML
4. Now search for <div id='content-wrapper'>
5. Below content wrapper you will see many more sections and widgets
6. Now time to close them, simply hit the line before each section and widget and they will be closed
7. You will continue closing widgets and sections until you can close <div id='content-wrapper'>
8. When you have closed <div id='content-wrapper'> you should see the tag in such way
<div id='content-wrapper'>...</div>
10. Now make your ad unit (Leaderboard 728 x 90) going to Google adsense account
11. Copy code and parse using our HTML Encoder tool
12. Now copy the parsed Adsense ad code and add replacing Your Parsed Adsense Code Here

Conclusion:

I tried my best to figure out this tutorial in such way that newbie blogger can understand it and avail every ad space that i mentioned. I think expertise bloggers will find tutorial helpful if they don't know any of the tricky ad spaces out of these earlier. Blogger is the most flexible platform that you can do many things you want. Although blogger team doesn't give us more flexibility but we made it more flexible for the sake of our most frequency in blogging experience.

I think using blogger you can generate a fistful of revenue from Google adsense when you don't need to pay for hosting space in Blogger but a few dollars for a custom domain.
